Woodland Textures - retreat

Spend a day working with fibre and creativity. Enjoy a workshop, learn new fibre art techniques, visit other fibre artists and enjoy the many sites and sounds that Salt Spring Island has to offer.

Woodland Textures: Study the texture of bark and organic shapes through a series of excercises using products such as Lutradur, tyvek, felt, painted fibres and water soluble stabilizers. Students will produce organic shapes, forest textures, natural surfaces and other dimensional effects. Susan will assist students in putting these textures together into a unique forest themed art quilt. The images displayed to the left are intended for inspiration only.
