Madison Square is a great pattern for working in an intuitive approach.  Using two color families, along with a neutral background color, the pattern makes up to a 50" X 60" quilt. Our sample uses a graduated hand dyed fabrics, giving a nice selection of  values for each color family. We have specially hand dyed kits to complete the quilt in the colors used in our sample.  The quilt could be sewn in a variety of colors, using our graduating hand dyed panels. Madison Square Kit

Textile Illustration - a two day workshop held in early March 2012.  Catherine Nicholls lead this exciting workshop for us on Salt spring Island.  The first day was spent sampling techniques including pen and ink, painting, printing and working with stencils as ways to add text and drawing to fabric.  Working from a source of inspiration, day two was used to develop ideas for an art quilt.

Friday evening before the start of the workshop, Catherine presented a wonderful trunk show of her quilts, where she  uses hand dyed fabrics for many of her backgrounds.

We have developed our own line of hand dyed fabric, ideal for art quilts.  At left are some images of the stunning fat 1/4's we have produced using procion MX dyes and PFD Hoffman fabric.  This high thread count fabric comes prepared for dying and results in gorgous dyed fabrics. We have a large selection of one of a kind fat 1/4's in the shop including tie dyed designs, double dyed fabrics and hue to hue gradations.
