TAP Artist Transfer Papers
These papers work on cotton, silk, poly blends, even wood and glass. For a high quality image, make sure you use a good quality cotton such as Kona cotton, pimatex, or cotton lawn.Use crayons, markers, pencils or photos printed from an inkjet printer to transfer images onto the transfer paper. Markers offer a more brilliant color and crayons and pencils will give a more pastel appearance. You can also use watercolor and acrylic paints on the TAP paper.
Then, with the image side down, simply iron the paper, transferring the image onto the desired surface. If you want the image to look exactly the same as the original, you will need to reverse it prior to applying onto the paper. The polymer coating on the paper transfers to the fabric. As you wash the fabric, some of the excess polymer will wash out and the fabric will soften.

In our sample, we applied a wash of color over the transfered image the using acrylic paints Some images were ironed onto rusted pieces of silk gauze which was then stitched onto the base fabric. The details are not as clear as those ironed onto very light/ white fabric.
Rows of parellel stitching were added using invisifil thread across the wall haninging, in various directions. Additional details have then been added with hand stitching to mirror the lines of the wood on the buildings.
