Knitting with mohair
Our lovely wrap was knit with Angel Mohair by Debbie Bliss. We used 3 balls of the Celadon color..The pattern, # 1402, by Diamond Luxury collection is intended to be used with their Mulberry Merino yarn for a great cool weather wrap.
We used 5 skeins of brown baby alpaca mohair sport by Diamond Luxury collection for our sample of the Shadow Box wrap pattern by Alison Brookbanks. We paired a black mohair along with the alpaca, giving a suble change of color to the project.
Our black caplet is knit with two balls of mohair. The pattern is free from Coco knits...please check out their web site for details on this "Every Day Wrap".
Kate Gillbert is the designer for the Clapotis scarf. The pattern can be viewed at knitty.com. For our Stitches sample, we combined 3 balls of Silk Garden sock yarn and 3 balls of Baby kid mohair Extra. The mohair makes this scarf especially soft and the colors of the sock yarn become more subtle.
The I cord scarf was knit with a mohair yarn knit with a ball of a complementary color of Taiyo sock yarn by Noro. Eight different I cords are knit at the same time, in various lengths, and randomly joined together. A free pattern is available from Stitches with purchase of the yarn for this project.
