Green House is an easy raw edge applique pattern.  The  pattern is first  traced onto a piece of freezor paper using a black sharpie. As each piece is required, the pattern is cut apart and the freezor paper pattern piece is fused to the right side of the appropriate fabric.

Misty fuse is a great light weight fusible that will not create a stiff result even after several layers of fabric are fused on top of each other.  Fuse the misty fuse to the wrong side of a larger piece of  fabric than required, then iron the freezor paper pattern on to the right side of the fabric. Make sure you have a teflon sheet or parchment paper against the misty fuse side of your fabric or you will fuse it to your ironing board. The pattern is cut out using the freezor paper as a guide for the pattern. These are then ironed in place using the pattern as a guide.

Once all the pieces were fused in place, we added a diluted wash of black acrylic paint on the brick work as shown in our second image.

Free motion stitching was added to created dimension around the rocks.  First a heavy application of black thead in the cracks, then threads matching the rocks was applied. Our fourth image shows the back of the quilt.  Note the amount of stitching.  It is important to distribute the stitching evenly to prevent distorting the finished quilt.  Work stitching in small areas throught out the quilts, slowly added more and more thread work as disired.

Our flower details were created by fusing pieces of torn, pre painted pieces of wonder under.  This added a hint of color to the greenery.  Then we fused pieces of tulle, netting and nylon scarves to add more texture and color to the flowers.
