Here are some photos taken during a visit to Tofino. Living on the coast, I am drawn to the ocean, the beaches and the scenery. We live in a beautiful part of the country. These images will be the inspiration for some landscape studies once I have a little time to create.
I recently acquired an antique circular sock knitting machine in the hopes of knitting socks. Yikes! These are facinating machines, but not as simple as one may think.
Just before the holidays, a group of us got together to learn how to make coiled baskets. We used various threads, yarns and cords for the wrapping. Some even added shells and beads! Here are the finished pieces.
We have prepared a variey of knitted hat and scarf samples, just in time for the cold weather. This pattern "Sugar on Snow" comes from knitty.com. You can make a hat as we have using 2 balls of Bonbori by Noro and tying the top with a knitted I-cord. The same pattern was used to make this lovely cowl below:
Here are some images from our recent felting class. Students used wool roving and embellishments to create a unique purse or clutch. After felting, additional details were added with needle felting. The diversity in the finished products was amazing. Thanks to everyone who participted in the class.
